How to Protect Your Holiday Smile

Posted .

You deserve a top-notch smile during the holidays. Unfortunately, there are many things that can harm your smile and affect your oral health, like tooth-harming foods and drinks as well as high-contact activities. So, to help you have the healthy and beautiful smile you deserve this holiday season, our dentist, Dr. Milan Sata, has some tips.

First, keep up on oral hygiene. Oral hygiene is essential for a top-notch holiday smile. So, make sure to brush twice a day, floss once a day, rinse daily, and visit your dentist every six months for your dental checkup.

Second, wear a mouthguard. Sometimes the holidays involve fun activities like football, basketball, and ice skating. If you’re not careful, you could suffer a blow to the face during these activities. This could result in oral injury. So, please make sure to wear a mouthguard while you’re active.

Third, avoid tooth-harming foods. There are many tooth-harming foods during the holidays, like sweets, soda, chocolate, and more. It’s best to avoid these sugary and acidic foods because they promote dental issues, like tooth decay and tooth sensitivity.
